Rockies, Charlie Blackmon Agree To One-Year, $13M Deal

Charlie Blackmon and the Colorado Rockies agreed Friday to a $13 million, one-year contract for 2024 that prevents the outfielder from becoming a free agent.

The 37-year-old is in the final season of a six-year contract guaranteeing $108 million, a deal Blackmon agreed to after winning the NL batting title with a .331 average.

The Washington Nationals have agreed to a multiyear contract extension with president of baseball operations and general manager Mike Rizzo, the team announced Wednesday.

The new deal with Rizzo, whose contract had been set to expire after the season, allows him to continue the Nationals' rebuilding effort. Details were not released, but Rizzo said he plans to remain in Washington for "a long, long time."

German Marquez, Rockies Agree To Two-Year, $20M Extension

Right-hander Germán Márquez and the Colorado Rockies are in agreement on a two-year, $20 million contract extension, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Friday.

Márquez will make $10 million both years with $10M in potential performance bonuses for 2025, sources said.

Marquez, 28, had Tommy John surgery in May and will miss most of 2024.
